Short Biography
Caitlin M. Ryan, PhD, is a geographer and postdoctoral researcher with the transdisciplinary NSF project Wyoming Anticipating the Climate-Water Transition (WyACT) at the University of Wyoming. Her research focuses on the socioeconomic, political, and institutional factors that drive collaboration and conflict over land, natural resources, and development in the context of global change. She is interested in the possibilities of futures-oriented methods to help communities adapt to the changing climate and build resilience in the face of increasing uncertainties. Her work has engaged land and natural resource managers; county, municipal, nonprofit, and Tribal leaders; researchers; and members of the impacted public, including immigrants, farmers, ranchers, business owners, and teachers. Her approach is guided by a commitment to producing shared knowledge that is useful to community partners and those most impacted by global change. Caitlin holds a PhD in geography from the University of Colorado Boulder.
