Short Biography
Ari Bruening, JD, AICP, is an attorney specializing in land use planning and zoning with extensive experience in visioning, planning, entitlement, and implementation efforts for regions, properties, and critical growth-related topics. At Envision Utah, he helped lead the Your Utah, Your Future statewide vision that solicited feedback from 52,845 Utahns on 11 different topics; the Valley Visioning project for Utah County, which engaged more than 11,000 residents; Utah’s recommended State Water Strategy; and the state’s Vision for Teacher Excellence. Previously, he managed visioning and entitlement projects for the San Diego, California, region; in Laie, Hawaii; at Daybreak and the 93,000-acre Kennecott Land Company project in Salt Lake County; for the 175,000-acre Superstition Vistas Arizona state trust land parcel; and for the 300,000-acre Deseret Ranches of Florida landholding near the Orlando International Airport. He holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA in philosophy from Brigham and Young University.
